Eastern Mass Warriors defeat Braintree Bandits to Capture the New England AAU Spring Baseball Classic on April 16-17
Spring finally arrived in New England on the April 16-17 weekend! After two weekends of rain and snow outs, teams finally took to the field for the annual New England AAU season kick-off event in Providence, Rhode Island.
Despite dropping their very first of pool play on Saturday morning, the Eastern Mass Warriors, from Wrentham, Massachusetts, won four straight games to earn the first place trophy and championship t-shirts at the NEAAU Spring Classic. Having to earn the widlcard to advance to bracket play, the Warriors defeated a very talented Braintree Bandits team in the championship final on Sunday. The game extended into extra innings and finished at sunset on a beautiful weekend of baseball.
