Co-Champs Celebrate @ Yankee Stadium

13U AAU International World Championship Co-Champions Recognized at Yankee Stadium on September 27th

The inaugural 13U AAU International World Championships started with Opening Ceremonies at Marlins Park in Miami and wrapped up with pictures at Yankees Stadium in New York. On Sunday, September 27 the 13u Connecticut Hanks Yanks were recognized at Yankee Stadium in Bronx, NY for their accomplishment at the AAU International World Championships earlier this month. The Hanks Yanks were also recognized in a NY Post article later that day.

On the September 4-7, 2015 the AAU hosted its first annual International competition in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The event welcomed 12u and 13u teams from the United States and from several countries beyond its borders. Due to persistent, inclement weather on Championship Monday, September 7th the 13U championship game was unable to complete and as a result both the Connecticut Hanks and Parkland Pokers were awarded co-champion status.

Showcasing their AAU International Championship medals and trophy, the Hanks Yanks were honored on home plate at Yankee Stadium as they took pictures with New York Yankees Manager Joe Giardi and Pitcher Masahiro Tanaka.

AAU Baseball is excited about the the future of the International World Championships and is already planning for a great 2016 event. Dates and locations for the 2016 tournament will be announced in Fall 2015.
