AAU Baseball met for annual meetings in San Antonio, Teas at the National AAU Convention on October 10-14th. In their effort to improve AAU Baseball's new International Championship in its second year, AAU Baseball adjusted both the date and location of the event, as well as welcomed new teams to play. Hosted on August 9-14, 2017, games were played at the Plantation Sunset Park in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Teams from Venezuela and Dominican Republic participated for the first time, joining teams from Puerto Rico, and several cities in the United States. More countries and teams will be added in 2017.

Teams began their event with an exciting opening ceremony parade/pictures inside Marlins Park before the Marlins vs. San Francisco Giants game. When competition began the following day, it was exciting from start to finish. Congratulations to champions and thank you to all teams for choosing AAU Baseball. Check out pictures and videos.

The 1st Annual AAU International World Championship wrapped up on Monday, September 7 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The event included several 12u and 13u teams from the United States, as well as international teams as well.

The event began on Friday, September 4 night as the AAU and all teams, families and friends visited Marlins Park in Miami. All players and coaches took pictures on the field and enjoyed a Marlins home game versus the New York Mets.

Competition began on Saturday, September 5 and included very competitive games as many games were decided in the last inning. During each day teams introduced themselves to each other, exchanged small gifts from their teams/countries and made memories for a lifetime.

The Kent Island Bucs from Maryland defeated the Canes Baseball Academy from Miami in the 12u Championship final. The 13u Championship final between the Connecticut Hank Yanks and Parkland Pokers was suspended due to rain. The game will resume on September 20th at a location to be announced in the coming days. Plans are being made to complete the 13u Championship.

Pictures and videos from the event will be available shortly. AAU Baseball would like to thank all teams, families, friends and fans for participating and making the first annual International World Championships a success. The AAU is already preparing for an even more exciting event in 2016.
